Is there a problem using unfranked postage stamps that are on sale on the net?
There are many offers of unused/unfranked postage stamps for sale on the net. these are genuine UK stamps that have no postmark or franking and have no gum either. Most, not all, have been recovered from envelopes or packets that have gone through the mail and the stamps have ended up with a charity and or a dealer in kiloware. Typically you can purchase these UK stamps First Class or Second Class for about half or two thirds their face value. For example 100 Second Class have face value of £30 but can easily be found for around £15 or £20. The question is can you be confident about using them for postage? Do stamps have security features that would have been compromised and indicate to the Royal Mail that the stamp had been previously used? Thanks for your response?
It is fraudulent and should not be for sale. If you use them they will be surcharged and the surcharge is £1.00 so if you do buy them there is no gain.
