Museums in Spain and Exceptional Architectural Designs

A great number of countries all over the world have magnificent architectural designs and inspiring museums; Spain is one of those countries. Plenty of impressive buildings and fine museums can be found in Spain; its colourful tradition and the people’s creativity has found its path to several great structures not just in Spain but also with other countries around the globe. Spain is considered a providential country as its museums houses a lot of astonishing and magnificent works of arts, and their native residents are very much fortunate to have them.

Spain has been named as a country where people take pride in all their actions, especially in architectural designs; the noticeable structures that they have built is a living proof of their devotion to accept nothing less than an excellent work. Taking the chance to try online lectures on language and culture like in Rocket Spanish, for example, can help you ask locals for recommendations on which tourist spots you could visit first, or the direction on how to reach the museum you’re read so much about and how do you get there the fastest and easiest way. Rocket Spanish Download is a Computer Assisted Language Learning that can help you speak Spanish fluently.

Enthusiasts in the field of architecture must not leave Spain without paying a visit at one of Spain’s architectural prides, the Temple Expiatory de la Sagrada Familia; the history and the structure of this church will definitely amaze you. This is indeed a beauty to some extent, especially at nights when the lights are turned on and it’s even made clearer in its full beauty; the designer of this church is Antoni Gaudi, a world-famous Spanish architect. You can head tothis building day or night and it’s a thing of beauty in a lot of aspects on both times of the day; during the day you can see the fine points outside the church, but during night time, the church is an image of vibrancy with the many lights that light it up like something out of a fairytale.

In point of fact, the completion of the construction of the Sagrada Familia church would probably be reached in 2026. You’ll be astonishedthat the church is still being constructed up to this day, while the construction started back in 1882; that is how complex and detailed the design is and it’s not something that can be easily completed within just a few years. The Museum of Wine Culture is situated at Briones, a place near Madrid; this wine museum is five floors high and is filled with artifacts like wine cups and bowls from various societies and of different years, with some as old as centuries before Christ.

The Museo del Prado, which is situated in Madrid, the capital city of Spain, is also a valuable place to head to because it’s considered to be one of the best museums in Europe. Another mesmerizing museum is publicized as one of the best in Europe and the world; Spanish people are indeed lucky to have a museum that can be identified as certainly first-rate in terms of the size and collection of art pieces and artifacts found in it. A person’s travel to Spain simply cannot be considered complete without taking some time to head to the museums that make Spain well-celebrated all over the world.

There’s plenty more to the culture of Spain that showcases their dedication for excellence. You can even mingle with new friends because the locals are known to be very pleasant and carefree.

 Bootlegger's Other Daughter

Bootlegger’s Other Daughter

$24.95

The generation that toiled through the Great Depression and won the Second World War has become known as “the greatest generation.” But not all of them qualified for that exaggerated epithet in the eyes of their own children. In this tender but unsparing memoir, Mary Cimarolli remembers a world in which the family home was lost to foreclosure, her father made his way by bootlegging, and school was a haven in which to hide from her brother’s teasing. Her stories are about struggle and survival, making do and overcoming, and, ultimately, reconciliation. From her perspective as a child, she describes the cotton stamps and other programs of the New Deal, the yellow-dog Democrat politics and racism of East Texas, and the religious revivals and Old Settlers reunions that gave a break from working in the cotton patch. The colorful colloquialisms of rural East Texas that dot the manuscript help express both the traditionalism of the region and its changes under the impact of modernization, electrification, and the coming of war. Along with these regional and national trends, Cimarolli skillfully interweaves the personal: conflict between her parents, the death of her brother a few days before his sixteenth birthday, and her own inner tensions. sentimentality, become cloyingly nostalgic. Ms. Cimarolli’s prose offers none of that. This memoir, then, is far more than a mere account of one woman’s life. Blended with the bitter, almost daily tragedies and disappointments are the richer tastes of a world that had no expectation of hurry, no anxiety about synthetic needs or artificial expections. Instead she offers a sampling of the exotic flavors of a time and place all too rapidly fading from living memory. This volume preserves a large number of those recollections, worth reading and keeping so that we never forget that some things of value cannot be purchased.”—The Dallas Morning News Author Biography: MARY CIMAROLLI is a retired professor of English at

Excerpt: The Edward VIII postage stamps were issued only in the United Kingdom during this King’s short reign in 1936. The British dominions and colonies didn’t have the time to issue their series by the time of Edward VIII’s abdication on 11 December 1936. The profile portrait chosen was taken by Hugh Cecil’s studio. The design was suggested by H.J. Brown, an 18 year old man, sent in February 1936 to the postal authorities. It inspired Harrison and Sons printers. The only graphic decorations on the stamp were the crown, the denomination in the upper corners, and the word “POSTAGE” at the bottom. Brown’s project, the simplest of all submissions, placed the words “POSTAGE” and “REVENUE” on the lateral sides. The Post Office wrote to Mr Brown telling him that his proposed design could not be used. After the stamp came out, clearly using Brown’s design, Brown’s father issued a statement regretting the Post Office’s deceit. Watermarked with a crown and “E8R”, the stamps were issued on 1 September 1936 for the halfpenny green, the threehalfpence brown and the twopence halfpenny blue, and on 14 September for the one penny red. The complete British series. The four or part of the four stamps were overprinted to be used in the British post offices in Morocco. For Tangier, the name of the town was onverprinted alone. “MORROCO / AGENCIES” was overprinted with a new face value in French centimes or Spanish céntimos depending the zone of the post office. As soon as the beginning of the reign in January 1936, the… More:
